What we do...
We transfer "old" format audio recordings (¼" Reel-to-Reel tape, Cassette
tape and 33/45/78 rpm Records) to Audio CD. We do not
normally "mix" source formats, such as combining music from a Cassette tape and
a Record to a single CD (this would be considered a "custom sequence", with the
resulting additional fee; see pricing above).
Every effort is made to record only the purest sound to CD. Records are cleaned before transfer to reduce clicking and popping. Broken splices on tapes are repaired where possible (you'll be notified if the tape is too damaged to be transferred). All audio is processed to remove "amplifier hiss" and other induced noises.
Each Audio CD holds about 70 minutes of audio, and can be played in most CD players. Typically, each tape or record is transferred to a single CD. The CD is then given a generic label based on its content, with a track listing either in the CD case or on the label, depending on the number of tracks.
Please note- you are only charged for what is transferred!
Additional copies, up to a maximum of 20, of the final CD may be purchased at $3 per copy. Raven Multimedia may not keep any copies of the material produced after they are shipped to the customer.
Notes: We cannot do miracles. If the tape is too old or the record too scratched, we won't be able to make it sound "new". Indeed, in some cases it will be impossible to get ANYTHING off of the original. In these cases we will carefully repack your original and ship it back to you without additional charge beyond actual return shipping and handling costs.
