What we do...
We transfer pretty much all videotape formats to DVD.
This includes VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, mini-DV, Video8, Hi8, and Digital 8 formats! About
the only thing we haven't transferred thus far is Betamax originals. We do
have a Beta player, but the quality of transfers is currently untested (sorry). Please note: we do generally
recommend that, for best results, you transfer no more than 1.5
hours of original video to a DVD.
Standard transfers do not include customized Chapter points nor a DVD menu and are basically just your videotape moved to a different medium. For a small additional charge (see the price summary above) each DVD has an interactive Menu and Chapter points based on the actual content of the original video (we go beyond the "chapters every 5 minutes" that a lot of other transfer services use). Each DVD produced has a custom label.
Once transferred to the computer, each video is evaluated. The original video for all transfers to DVD may be edited, unless you specifically request otherwise, to remove any "large" segments of blank, damaged, or obviously out of focus video. If necessary, and only where possible, we will try to repair/improve the audio track. Repairs are prorated, which means that if only some 20% of the video required editing, you're only charged $2 for that video (20% of the $10 fee). All editing WILL be discussed with you before it is done.
Additional copies, up to a maximum of 20, of the final product (DVD or Tape) may be purchased at $7 per copy. Raven Multimedia may not keep any copies of the videos produced after they are shipped to the customer.
